IOT Wireless Deployment

IT is working on installing new Routers with the access point built into it. We are at a point in the process where some of you have had your equipment installed and some of you are about to have your equipment installed.

  • After equipment is installed please contact Wossen.

  • Once you have been using this new equipment for about a week please contact Emily.

Project Overview
The message below was sent to all of you by IT on Feb. 5, 2008 informing you of this project.
"In an effort to improve wireless connectivity IT will be working with all IOT Distributors to standardize network connectivity to the Home Office.

This project will include the following steps:

  1. Site Survey – each Distributorship will be contacted by the Home Office prior to a technician coming out to perform the site surveys
    • Survey will be used to identify cabling, take pictures, inventory devices that will connect to the network and conduct wireless scans.

  2. IT will review site survey results and provide a solution based on requirements

  3. Equipment will be configured and shipped to the site

  4. IT will schedule a technician to come out and install the equipment

  5. After the installation is completed; IT will test internet and wireless connectivity After completion of this project a stable, consistent, and supportable infrastructure will be in place at all Distributorship's.

Note: Changing Internet Service Providers and hardware will impact the project so do not make any network changes without consulting IT first.

Projected Project Completion Date for ALL IOT Distributors: April 14th 2008"

IOException Error when printing Truck Load or Unload

When trying to print a truck load/unload you might encounter an error that looks like this:

*This error message is caused by too many truck load and unload reports being saved to the storage card. Clearing out old reports only occurs when reprint report is called; we are learning this functionality is not used enough in everyday activity because multiple drivers have called with this issue.

*By walking through the steps below every other week (this process only takes about 30 seconds), users will not encounter this error. Our next release will automatically delete old files.

The following steps walk you through how to clear out any truck load/unload reports that are older than 10days. These steps will work whether you are in Truck Load or Truck Unload.

  1. Click OK on the error message dialog box.

  2. Once the error message is gone, press and hold anywhere on the grid to activate the drop down list. Click Reprint Report.

  3. Once you click Reprint Report it should take you to a list of Saved Reports, click on any one of the reports listed.

  4. Click Print.

  5. When the dialog box pops up prompting if you want to print anther copy click No.

  6. Once you have the printout click Exit/Return.

  7. It will take you back to the main Truck Load or Truck Unload screen, click Exit/Print and it will print the original load/unload you were trying to print (as long as you have not rebooted the handheld since you saved the load/unload).
